WHEN: Saturday October 11th, 10am - 2pm
WHERE: Summertown Studio, 13 Paringa Ave Somerton Park
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Complete beginners to experienced embroiderers are welcome!
We’ll use ‘stick and stitch’ patterns which adhere to your item, then wash away with water once you’re done stitching.
Hand embroidery is a very slow process, so depending on the design you choose to stitch, you might not complete your project within the workshop time. But don’t worry, you can take your project home with everything you’ll need to complete it!
The workshop will be a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Perfect is absolutely not the goal! I will be floating around to help troubleshoot, fix up mistakes, and chitter chat with you.
Choose up to 3 patterns, and 3 full skeins of embroidery floss! You’ll also get a 5 inch embroidery hoop and an embroidery needle to take home.
WHAT TO BRING:
Please bring an item to upcycle. This can be a tshirt, a cap, a tote bag, a shirt, a pillow case - anything fabric! The embroidery patterns wash away with water, so make sure your item is okay to get wet. If you’re not sure your item will be suitable, just send me an email and I’ll let you know if it will work. If you’re unsure what to bring, I’ll also have fabric available that you can stitch onto and display in your embroidery hoop!

A lesson on a few basic and versatile embroidery stitches
Guidance and trouble shooting from me throughout the workshop
Up to 3 stick and stitch embroidery patterns
Up to 3 skeins of embroidery floss
